Hiver 1832. Le cur\u00e9 d’Orly est brusquement appel\u00e9 au chevet de l’ancien maire, Valentin Ch\u00e9vetel, agonisant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

S’engage alors entre les deux hommes un invraisemblable et rocambolesque \u00e9change durant lequel Ch\u00e9vetel s’accuse des plus sordides trahisons et des plus basses manipulations pour an\u00e9antir la contre-r\u00e9volution en Bretagne, la chouannerie, et assassiner son chef, le marquis de La Rou\u00ebrie, h\u00e9ros de la guerre d’ind\u00e9pendance am\u00e9ricaine et ami de Washington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

V\u00e9ritable thriller historique, fond\u00e9 sur des faits authentiques, ce r\u00e9cit, fait de rebondissements stup\u00e9fiants, r\u00e9v\u00e8le la face obscure de certains r\u00e9volutionnaires, et non des moindres (Danton, Marat, Robespierre…), anim\u00e9s des plus vils sentiments (jalousie, veulerie, cupidit\u00e9…), et permet de mieux appr\u00e9hender cette p\u00e9riode cl\u00e9 de l’histoire de France, id\u00e9alis\u00e9e de nos jours par certains, d\u00e9cri\u00e9e par d’autres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
